Frequently asked questions about Egaline
What is self-leveling screed?
Levelling compound is a self-levelling material mainly consisting of cement and synthetic resin. The material flows out by itself and, after hardening, creates a flat and smooth surface, which means your floor will not quickly crack or burst.
Why is self-leveling compound needed?
Laying a floor with self-levelling compound ensures that it will not crack or break easily. So the planks will stay neatly in place and your floor will remain beautiful and strong for longer.
How do you apply self-leveling compound?
The substrate must first be thoroughly clean and grease-free. Then, a primer is applied. The self-leveling compound is then mixed and poured over the floor, after which it self-levels.
How long does it take for self-leveling compound to dry?
This depends on the thickness and type of self-levelling compound. On average, a 3 mm layer is walkable after 12 to 24 hours and suitable for flooring installation after 48 hours.
